About Us
Just 3 lads who love Melee
K.E.G. Gaming is made up of 3 fellas from British Columbia who like tech and Melee. We saw that there was a demand for a quality, durable controller that was easy to set up and didn’t break the bank, so we sought out to make one. We are currently in Alpha testing. If you are in the BC or Texas area and want to be considered for Alpha testing, sign up below.

Future Features
PODE Emulation
Classic potentiometers degrade over time, and this degradation effect can create various controller behaviors that may be useful or detrimental. Magnetic encoders will not have such degradation, but you may want your controller to have certain PODE-dependent behaviors. We aim to make PODE emulation intuitive and fair, and we are currently trying to figure out the best way to do that.
Live Input Recording
Bluetooth functionality will open a lot of doors. One concept that we have been considering is live input recording. Uncle Punch can provide a lot of helpful feedback on your inputs, and we think it would be nice to have some of this feedback during regular gameplay. What are your typical wavedash angles? How quickly do you act out of shield? What laser heights are you usually using? By connecting your K.E.G. to a phone app that records and analyzes your inputs, it will be possible to give you useful information about your tech.
Wireless
Bluetooth also enables the potential development of a wireless controller. While this may not be the highest priority, it could be a nice add-on feature. Like the wavebirds of old, you could plug a receiver into the console and use your K.E.G. without the constraints of wires.
Purchasing Options
We will offer a few different options when it comes to purchasing your K.E.G. For now, we are in Alpha. We will not be taking orders until we move into Beta.
- Full controller – we source donor and populate it for you, or we can work together to find the right donor for you
- 3rd party swap – we send you the KEG board with 3rd party donor parts, easily swappable into your existing controller with no soldering required
- KEG it up – You send us a donor controller, we KEG it up, and then mail it back to you

Acknowledgements
We’d like to give special thanks to the PhobGCC dev team for the following hardware designs used in the KEG Controller: pcb dimensions and cut lines, oem donor component mounting layouts, and button pad designs. Also a huge shoutout to them for being a massive inspiration, we love their work and everything they do for melee.
